Iโ€™ve written a lot about self-care over the years, and somehow thereโ€™s always more I can say on the topic. Perhaps itโ€™s because I see peopleย notย taking care of themselves and I think, โ€œThis could all be so different.โ€ In my own life, self-care has given me clarity, stability, and a deeper connection with myself. It allows me to be more creative and refuels my energy for the things I want to do.In turn, I can show up as the truest version of myself around others (I would say โ€˜bestโ€™, but I think โ€˜trueโ€™ is more appropriate).So if you need a little reminder to keep making time for yourself, here are 40 one-sentence reminders to help you prioritize self-care .

  1. Self-care is about finding practices that help you stay balanced and healthy โ€“ mentally, physically, and emotionally.
  2. Setting boundaries can sound intimidating, but it will give you the freedom to spend time doing what you love.
  3. Following your heart is an act of self-care.
  4. Listening to your intuition is an act of self-care.
  5. Donโ€™t avoid the things that make you feel better.
  6. Making time for yourself in the morning will help the rest of your day run more smoothly.
  7. The way you talk to yourself manifests in everything you do.
  8. โ€œInstead of asking yourself why youโ€™re so lazy, ask yourself why you might need so much rest.โ€
  9. Burnout happens when you avoid being human for too long.
